Ram Review

  • The Rams opened up the scoring summary in the 18th minute when Noemi Mallet (JR/Shippagan, NB, Canada) received the ball and laid it off about 25 yards from goal to Rachel Forestell (SR/Quispamsis, NB, Canada). The senior took a touch and finished a fantastic shot on the far post from the top of the box for her first goal of the season.

  • Cayla Hebert (SR/Lafayette, La.) did a fantastic job of creating offense for her teammates when she dribbled the ball toward the end line on the right side in the 25th minute. The three-time All-American made a cut toward the goal and found Nikole Cruz on a cross at the back post, setting her up nicely for her first goal if the game.

  • Cruz notched a second one in the second half, again with some familiar help. Hebert took a shot from the top of the box that was deflected to Cruz, who tapped it in with ease to give Mobile a 3-0 lead.

  • The team's leading scorer Colleen Kennedy (JR/Rockvale, Tenn.) and Cheyne Bush (SO/Edwards, Miss.), the team leader in assists, decided to switch roles for the final goal. Kennedy crossed the ball from wide on the right side of the field to Cheyne who was running into the box from the left side. Bush finished it with her head from about 12 yards out to wrap up the scoring summary.

  • The defense, led by Antonia Bauer (FR/Dormagen, Germany) in net, and Heidi Giles (SO/Clive, AB, Canada), Adama Samura (SR/Edmonton, Alberta, Canada), Noe Phillips, and Sydney Oliver (JR/Shalimar, Fla.) on the back line, held Brenau without a shot.

Person's Perspective

"This road trip had been good for us as it has been a great learning experience for our inexperienced team," head coach Brian Person said after they split the two-game road trip. "Playing good teams on the road is a very difficult. The win today was a good way to end the trip and the girls showed an increase in maturity.
